What type of bite material do I use?

We recommend clinicians to use a fast setting bite material. When applying the bite material on the occlusal plate we advise to use a generous amount to ensure the record has captured all indentations of the upper arch.

How do I use the OneBite Evolution on a denture patient?

For denture patients we advise to add  a wax rim to the occlusal plate and then you are able capture the maxillary arch position using the same protocol as any other case.

Do I have to get a CBCT scan to locate the condyle?

It is not required to get a CBCT scan to identify the condyle. Each doctor has different workflows they like to use. If you do not have a CBCT scanner, palpation works fine. It is required to put a small marker on the condyle to enable the capture of the record regardless of CBCT scan or physical palpation.

Do I have to purchase the clinician cube holder for sending digital cases?

If you are wanting to scan this record from your office and send the files to your lab, a clinician cube holder is required. If your lab has a desktop scanner, you will send the physical digital OneBite Cube and digital Occlusal bite record and they will have to purchase the technician cube holder to scan for digital workflow on their side.

How is the Baseline more accurate than other landmarks?

The Baseline is the most reliable landmark to use while getting the maxillary arch position. The Frankfort plane is based off of hard tissue that results in a steeper occlusal plane. The Campers plane is based off soft/hard tissue that results in a flatter occlusal plane. The true position is somewhere in the middle. Using the 3 point triangulation of the corner of the eye and corner of the ear the baseline is able to replicate the true position of the maxillary arch with these identifying landmarks.

What if I have an asymmetric patient with cranial distortion?

If a patient has a major cranial distortion it is up to the doctor to identify the best landmarks and position of the patient. If the patients condyles are off, no articulator can replicate the exact movement of the jaw. It is up to your personal assessment of the patient to identify the landmarks that will ensure in the best outcome for your patient.

What is the difference between the OneBite and the OneBite Evolution?

OneBite

The OneBite system is a simple system that replaces Q-tips or benda brushes to capture the midline and horizontal line angle position.

OneBite Evolution

The OneBite Evolution is a universal system replacing the traditional facebow. The OneBite Evolution captures the true position of the maxillary arch with unmatched precision that can be replicated across any articulator allowing an accurate maxillary arch transfer.

How is the OneBite Evolution different than a traditional facebow?

The OneBite Evolution system stands out as the superior choice for dentists when compared to traditional facebow systems. Our innovative technology revolutionizes the way dental professionals work, offering distinct advantages:

1. Precision: The OneBite Evolution system is engineered for unparalleled precision. It ensures accurate measurements and alignments, enabling dentists to provide optimal treatment and achieve superior results. The traditional facebow is a one size fits all tool that uses unreliable landmarks. The OneBite Evolution system provides a precision record by offering a user operated tool and reliable landmarks. Our system is able to transfer the correct maxillary arch record in relation to the condyle unlike other systems.

2. Efficiency: Say goodbye to time-consuming and complex setups. Our system streamlines the process, saving valuable chairside time, and making appointments more efficient for both dentists and patients. Not only can our system fit both analog and digital needs, it eliminates errors that can result in more remakes saving time and money.

3. Ease of Use: Designed with user-friendliness in mind, the OneBite Evolution is easy to learn and operate. Dentists can quickly adapt to the system, reducing the learning curve. Many doctors are not comfortable using a facebow resulting in not being confident in a crucial record. The OneBite Evolution allows for the confidence in the maxillary arch record with precision and ease.

4. Patient Comfort: We prioritize patient comfort. Our system minimizes discomfort during measurements, leading to a more pleasant experience for your patients.

5. Enhanced Diagnosis: With precise data at your fingertips, you can make more accurate diagnoses and treatment plans, improving the overall quality of care you provide.

6. Versatility: The OneBite Evolution system is versatile and adaptable to various dental procedures, making it an indispensable tool for any dentist's toolkit.

Does the lab have to have a technician kit?

Yes, the technician will have their own technician kit to allow them to transfer the record both analog and digitally. The technician will have mostly what the clinician has with the exception of the OneBite Evolution mounting system. This allows the correct transfer of the record with only having to send minimal or no parts to the laboratory depending if you are using an analog or digital workflow.

Can I reuse the OneBite Evolution parts?

The OneBite Evolution is a reusable device with the exception of the disposable arches and occlusal plates.

What is the difference between analog and digital work flow?

We offer both analog and digital work flows. When you purchase the OneBite Evolution system we provide you with both an analog OneBite Cube/Occlusal plate set and a digital OneBite Cube/Occlusal plate set. Both workflows are identical with the difference of how you send the information to your lab.

If you are using an analog workflow you will send the black OneBite Cube and black Occlusal plate physically to your lab. If you are using a digital workflow you can scan the record of the digital OneBite Cube on our clinician cube holder and send this file along with the patients upper, lower, and bite scans to the lab or the digital portal to articulate.

Do I have to send the whole OneBite Evolution System to my lab?

No, the beauty of the lab having out OneBite Evolution Technician System is that they will have all the parts they will need to articulate and process your case. This allows minimal shipping of parts. If you are using a digital workflow all you will need to send is the digital files and no extra physical parts required to ship.

FAQ

ONEBITE EVOLUTION TECHNICIAN

The doctor sent me the scan files, how do I process them digitally?

Currently 3Shape has the OneBite Evolution integrated within their articulation process. Refer to the 3Shape/Digital Protocol instructions for the step by step walkthrough.

If you are wanting to articulate the files sent by your doctor in the physical articulator you will need to purchase the Digital Mounting Adapter or articulate the 3D printed models using the OneBite Evolution Technician system protocol.

For the Digital Mounting Adapter protocol you or your doctor will send the files along with the baseline (Z) and midline (Y) values to the digital portal (located in website menu). You will receive the correctly mounted files with the number of risers needed to place on the Digital Mounting Adapter. Once you print your models place the upper and lower into the adapters along with the recommended risers and secure models with the screw. Now the case is in the true maxillary arch position based off the information recorded by the doctor.

Do I have to purchase the technician cube holder to process digital cases?

If the doctor does not have an intra oral scanner and clinician cube holder yet you want the digital workflow on the laboratory side you will need to purchase the technician cube holder.

In this case, the doctor will record the maxillary position with the digital OneBite Cube/Occlusal plate and physically send these pieces to you. Once you have received these pieces you can connect them to the technician cube holder and scan the information in the desktop scanner. From here, you can chose the digital protocol that works best for your lab.

What type of bite material do I use to mount the occlusal plate to the transfer plate?

We recommend technicians to use a fast setting, rigid bite material. When applying the bite material in between the occlusal plate and transfer plate you want to make sure to secure both the front and the back fully to correctly lock in the maxillary arch position.

How do I use the Panadent Articulator plate for the Digital Mounting Adapters?

When you purchase the Digital Mounting Adapters for the Panadent articulator you will receive two articulator plates, one for the upper and one for the lower. The upper will be marked on the back side of the plate. All other articulator plates for the Digital Mounting Adapters can be used either on the lower or the upper.

How do I mount analog on multiple types of articulators?

When you purchase the OneBite Evolution Technician System you will have the option to select one articulator. In your kit, we will send you the corresponding articulation parts. If you need to mount on multiple articulators you will only need to purchase the articulator plate and slider of the specific articulator you need. The OneBite Evolution Technician system is universal allowing you to only need these two additional parts to adapt it to the articulators for mounting.

Does the doctor have to have a OneBite Evolution System?

Yes, the doctor is required to have the OneBite Evolution Clinician System to communicate the correct information to the lab. Each system is tailored to both needs, one system for the clinician and one system for the technician to enable clear communication of the maxillary arch record.

Do I have to schedule a zoom course before purchasing?

Yes, due to the OneBite Evolution being a new innovative product in the market it is essential to train both doctors and technicians with the new methods to ensure ultimate success while using our system. Taking a short zoom training with one of our team members is to ensure that you get the most out of the system. Our training provides you with the knowledge and skills needed to fully understand and utilize our product's features and capabilities. By completing the training, you'll be equipped to make informed decisions, troubleshoot effectively, and maximize the benefits of the OneBite Evolution, resulting in a more rewarding and successful experience. Your success is our priority, and this training is designed to give you the knowledge of the correct workflow of the system.

How is the OneBite Evolution laboratory process different than a facebow?

The OneBite Evolution workflow is a simple and precise process. If your lab utilizes a digital workflow you will only need to use the OneBite Evolution parts that are needed for your workflow. The doctor will no longer need to send you physical records that are difficult to mount and are almost always incorrect. If your lab utilizes an analog workflow the only parts the doctor will need to ship is the analog OneBite Cube and Occlusal plate with the patients record.

The OneBite Evolution allows the technicians to eliminate a complex mounting process that is normally found with the traditional facebow. The precision and simplicity we offer is unmatched compared to the outdated methods. Our system is universal and can be used on all major brands of articulators allowing the technicians to only need one system that can be transferred to any articulator.

The OneBite Evolution Digital Mounting Adapters allow for mounting this record without the need of plaster and a complex mounting process for any digital workflows that a lab might require.

What is the condyle relation with your system compared to others?

The OneBite Evolution precisely communicates the relation of the maxillary arch position to the condyle by using the baseline landmarks with our system. We are able to replicate the exact record of a patient across multiple articulators no matter the brand. The traditional facebow systems are a one size fits all system resulting in an incorrect record that is not communicating the correct relation of the condyle and maxillary arch position. An average measurement is not a correct measurement. If you were to take one patient and multiple traditional facebows across multiple articulators the record would look different on each one. The OneBite Evolution gives a precise recording the the laboratory enabling the true, correct, position of the maxillary arch in relation the the condyle.

What articulators are compatible with your system?

The OneBite Evolution is a universal system. Currently we are compatible with Stratos, Artex (Amann Girrbach) , Denar Mk 2, Denar Mk 320 (Whipmix), Sam 2, Sam 3, Panadent, and Kavo articulators. The only part required is the OneBite Evolution Articulator Plate and Slider to adapt the system to these articulators. We are working on adding additional articulators to our system as well. If you have a specific articulator that is not currently listed, please contact us.

Which softwares support the OneBite Evolution?

OneBite Evolution is compatible with the 3Shape software. 3Shape has the OneBite Evolution tools integrated in the digital articulation dental designer software. If you would like to use the OneBite Evolution Digital Mounting Adapter or Exocad you will need to submit the files to the digital portal for digital articulation processing (digital portal in the main menu).

FAQ

ONEBITE

How is the OneBite different than benda brushes or Q-tips?

The OneBite allows the doctor to capture the midline and horizontal line angles after the bite material is set. The issue we see with other methods is the bite material hardens too quickly resulting in multiple records being sent to the lab with inaccuracies. The OneBite allows time for the doctor to correctly identify these line angles the first time with ease and precision.

How do I send the record to my lab?

Once the record is finalized, twist the fastener extremely tight, place bite registration material all the way back of the holes and around the fastener.
Now, detach the arch from the rods and ship these two pieces to your lab.

Do you still have to take a record when using the OneBite?

Yes, the OneBite only captures the midline and horizontal line angles of the patient. All other records including the bite record are still required to be captured separately by the doctor.

Does the OneBite capture the bite of the patient?

No, the OneBite only captures the midline and horizontal line angles of the patient. All other records including the bite record are still required to be captured separately by the doctor.
